Bio: Matt Donovan is an 18 year old Human boy living in the town of Mystic Falls. He grew up here with his sister, Vicki Donovan, and his mother, but as she was never around. It just used to be him and Vicki. Matt has been best friends with Caroline, Bonnie, Tyler and Elena, who later became his girlfriend, since they were all little. Matt cares for his friends a lot and will do anything to protect them. He had been dating Elena for a long time, but when her parents died, she broke up with him, claiming that she needed space. But he’s never given up on them, he still believes in a relationship with Elena, although she’s moved on.

Matt Donovan has lived in Mystic Falls his whole life, he doesn’t like the town very much, he wants to hopefully move away when he’s older. Matt is on the football team, this shows that he’s a strong, broad boy. He currently works at the Grill where he is trying to make some money to help him live because his mother is never around and Vicki isn’t alive anymore, so he’s alone. The only people Matt trusts are his friends. He takes a strong disliking to Klaus and Damon Salvatore.

Matt Donovan is a very nice guy, he is popular and well known around town. Matt is a good citizen and he’s always looking out for others, mainly his friends. Matt is a smart boy. He’s jealous of Stefan Salvatore as Elena has taken an interest in him, but he hopes that she will become his again. Matt is also very determined, he loves to party and just have fun.
